Transfer Nursing Students

Each year, hundreds of students transfer to 91视频 to pursue a degree in nursing or to advance their nursing careers with a bachelor’s degree. There are multiple pathways toward a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing at 91视频. To help you understand which program might be the best fit for you, we welcome you to attend an online .

Traditional Nursing Program
  • No prior degree required
  • Students with prior bachelor’s welcome to apply
  • Minimum time to completion is 5 semesters (2 1/2 years)

Accelerated Nursing Program*
  • Bachelor's degree in non-nursing field
  • 12 months
  • Online asynchronous instruction
  • In-person Boston-area clinicals
RN-BS Program*
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN) or Hospital School Diploma
  • RN License
  • Typically takes between 3-5 semesters to complete (select classes may be offered in the summer semester)
  • Online

*Students on an F-1 Visa are not eligible to apply for the Accelerated Nursing and RN-BS programs.

To be eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, individuals must successfully complete a required background check and obtain a Social Security Number. Many of our clinical affiliate agencies have similar requirements for student participation in clinical experiences. Additional information regarding licensure requirements can be found in the (see page 3).

Applicants who anticipate difficulty meeting these requirements are encouraged to contact nursing@umb.edu for guidance. Matriculated students should contact their Program Director as soon as possible to discuss their individual circumstances and available options.
