Catalogue Description. Text should be limited to 100 words. The description should provide a clear overview of the course goals and content. 2. Course Goals and Objectives. Goals and objectives should be clear and concise. The goal statement should be broad. Objectives should be consistent with the goals and should be specific and measurable. 3. Course Content, Instructional Approach, and Expectations. The major topics covered in the course should be identified. The major instructional methods to be used should be specified. The essential course activities that students will need to perform in order to complete the course should also be described (reading expectations, exams, class participation, types of papers, group and/or single projects, and so). Types of papers might include project reports, written case analyses, critical essays, and research papers. 4. Evaluation of Student Performance. The methods used to assess student performance should be specified. The assessment approach should be consistent with course objectives. If multiple assessment methods will be used, the method of weighting the components should be specified. If class participation represents a substantial proportion of the course work (more than 15%), criteria for assessment of class participation should be identified. 5. Topical Outline with required readings. The distribution of topics and assignments over the duration of the course should be specified. (The topical outline need not be organized on a week-by-week basis.) 6. Bibliography. The bibliography should be appropriate for the subject content and should include current literature in the field. The bibliography should be of reasonable length.
